Mayangone Township is located to the north of Yangon and possesses 25.34 Kilometers. The neighborhood townships are: Insein Townships in the north, North Oakkalapa and Yankin Townships in the east, Hlaing River and Hlaingthaya Township in the west, and Kamayut and Hlaing Townships in the south. Mayangone Township is organized into 20 quarters, and it has 30 basic education primary schools, 7 basic education middle schools, and 5 basic education high schools. This township has many Buddhist monasteries and pagodas.
Mayangone 9miles, Aung Shwe Bon Thar Dhamma Beikman monastery at Pyay road junction, Thiri Mingalar Kabar Aye Pagoda on Kabar Aye Pagoda Road, Kyaikkalo Pagoda and Kyaikkalei Pagoda on Yangon-Pyay road, and Kyaik Wine Pagoda on Kyaik Wine Pagoda road, are the well-known and renowned places of Yangon.
