Pabedan Township is included in one of the six downtowns of Yangon city. The area of Pabedan is 0.76 kilometers. This township establishes with eleven wards, and is surrounded by Kyauktada in the east, Seikkan Township and Yangon River in the south, Latha Township in the west and Dagon Township in the north. Pabedan Township has three Basic Education Primary Schools, three Basic Education Middle Schools and three Basic Education High Schools. Many outstanding students inside Pabedan Township are always born from Basic Education High school (2) Pabedan. This school is one of the well-known schools in Yangon city. Pabedan Township is one of the townships which some colonial era buildings are still existed. The Township is home to Bogyoke Aung San market and Theingyi market, two of the largest markets in all of Yangon city. The township is easily accessible and one of the heart of townships for Yangon. With the populous condition, there are plenty of merchants and buyers in the township. Mostly, People live apartments and condos, and people who like with house are rarely existed. Because, Pabedan Township is the downtown area, and it was systematically constructed with apartments since the colonial age. Also, the land spaces are very rare high comparing with the recent real estate price. To be concluded, the ancient and precious architectural buildings, and Colonial cultures and heritages can be seen in Pabedan Township, like Latha, Lanmadaw, Kyauktada, Botahtaung and Pazundaung Townships.
